Meeting with Minister of Sports, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis

Georgis Markogiannis met with the government official just before the start of the season.

The Greek Minster of Sports, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, is a keen supporter of motorsports. In that context, he met with young talented drivers representing the country abroad: Georgis Markogiannis competing in the Italian Formula 4 Championship powered by Abarth and Alexandros Papaefthimiou, competing in FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

Mr. Avgenakis commented: «Today I met with two young, talented drivers that will travel abroad in the next few days, to compete representing Greece. They are battling against many difficulties, but still manage to make us proud. Out ambition is that in the near future, Greece will have many, remarkable and top-level participations, such as those of Georgis and Alexandros. I sincerely hope that their development reaches the highest possible level - why not, even up to F1! The State is determined to support a great sport that until now was “misunderstood”. To support athletes and give them the opportunity to train in safe and modern infrastructure, here in Greece».

Georgis cadded: «Today I met with the Greek Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, in the context of development of motorsport in Greece. I was surprised by the willingness and passion of Mr. Avgenakis for racing & I am very pleased to have his active support».
