Testing at Mugello

The Greek Driver spend two days at the circuit of Tuscany, preparing for the final round of 2022.

Georgis Markogiannis, the Greek Driver participating at the Italian Formula 4 Championship powered by Abarth against the greatest talents of motorsport worldwide, is working hard. After testing at the legendary Monza track and racing there, he did not return to Athens. Instead, he travelled to Tuscany, where the Mugello Circuit is located.

A racing track known from the recent F1 races held there, which consisted a complete unknown for the 18-year-old. Since working on the simulator is helping but is now enough at such a special and demanding racing circuit, he completed two days of testing in order to familiarize himself with its characteristics and search for the optimum set-up for car #79.

Cram Motorsport’s driver said: «This test was quite demanding, both for me and for the team, as it is a track I drove at for the first time. It is quite difficult to find the perfect set-up, as I had to adjust my driving to this circuit’s requirements lap after lap. However, at the end of the second day we were able to reach a competitive level of performance, while our race simulations were also satisfactory. Mugello is a demanding circuit, with many long bends and high-speed corners, plus significant elevation differences. Following another car is quite difficult, due to the loss of downforce. Therefore, positioning yourself higher on the grid is essential. In addition, due to the layout and the rough tarmac, tyre management will be a big challenge».

The seventh and final round of the season (fifth for Georgis who missed the first two rounds due to school commitments) takes place October 21-23.
